What's new??

Besides smoking myself to death in the past couple of nights, i have been thinking about the world alot lately, specifically about the flu pandemic that will hit us sooner or later wether we liked it "or prepared for it" or not..

Obviously we are not prepared AT ALL, we are waiting for the mercy of USA and UK,, our ministry of health spent 15 million$ on purchasing the vaccine "that we are not sure it will prevent the flu anyway, at least that is my own idea"

I am not offering any solutions in this post for the failure of the medicine field in our arabian world, but at least i think it is good that Jordan for example has established a special committee for this issue trying to figure out what to do!

Where are the experts in Kuwait my brain is wondering? are they not scared?

It is bird flu indeed, this virus will mutate and infect humans who will infect other humans. And the action should be is to STOP importing ducks and chickens and all that. and even stop travellers from going to that part of Asia "indonisia, philipines, ..etc"

Quarrentine whole countries?? Wow, heavy stuff. And the bird migrations... how do we control that? They are already seeing cases in Turkey, Romania and Bulgaria. This is an interesting link that shows the migratory patterns of known infected bird speicies.

It's scary. My mom's a nurse in the states and they are getting LOTS of early-education on this which tells me they are taking seriously at even local levels.

90% of our goods in kuwait are imported !! what to control ? does this disease lead to death ?

Yep, plenty of deaths attributed to it so far and they are starting to see the first cases of antibiotic resistant strains. They beleive it will be this centuries pandemic, our version of the Black Plague that killed hundreds of thousands back in the day. Not a pretty thought.

However, it's still mainly found in wild birds. They have issued advisories to lower the risk factors for commercial fowl. Awareness is our best tool of prevention at this point. Don't go rubbing up on dead birds now, ya hear?? ;-)

Flu is a big problem for people like us who are sinus patients.

good job, now you managed to scare everyone and their, well, birds (funny eh?)

i think every country should follow the jordanian example by setting "special committees" for every issue. this way, 95% of the population can claim it is a member of some "special committee" thus we get rid the class system as well as unemployment...brilliant!

Hibba: yup that is the best place =>

Raheel: will if this pandemic does occur, we will die sooner than we know, and our sinuses will not suffer =>

Jameed: Well i really hope they are doing something useful other than claiming to be VIP's LOL
Your suggestion will be taken into consideration though => it will indeed make some scientists "feel" worthwhile

Easy @:) never worry sweety , we have it all . LOL

It has been quite a while since I last came here, anyway I have not forgotten your site :)

In spite of our present knowledge in science and technology diseases will always be a problem in this world - there is always a new disease or a new strain as we advance in our knowledge and lifestyle. Sad to say but countries that are not equipment to handle these viruses are the one that will feel it the most.

You might need to activate the word verification system to prevent spamming.
