Eurovision 2005

BBC1 has just shown Eurovision 2005 song contest held in KYIV this year. I enjoy watching it every year specially when the commentator says (God Please Help Us) cos no one votes for UK hahaha..
Every year i hopeto see an arabic singer or something, this contest is not quitrent to Europe, apparently countries from the middle east and north africa can participate, Samira for example from morocco has taken part in 1980. It seems that a lebanese singer (Eline Lahoud) with her composer from the Rahbani family (forgot his first name) were supposed to take part but the reasons for her not appearing are still mystical to me.

So from the UK, the lovely Javine performed her (Touch My Fire) the arabic-tinged R&B song.

I really like turkish music too but today the singer produced some unnecessary noises and Cow-boy like screams!!! (hardly got points tonight)

Italy didnt take place :(

Israel had many supporters it seemed (so i KNEW they would win they got in the top 5)

The 24 performances were exciting and dance-full. the presenters though were (thqal dam) specially the lady.. i needed panadol after hearing her tone; she sure dont need a microphone.

1st place was given to: GREECE yay

The british commentator kept moaning (no body loves us) until the irish saved their butts AGAIN LOL (still they didnt even get in the top 20!!!!!!!)

Oh and ARSENAL won against MANCHESTER today! VIEIRA's conclusive goal (penalty) was candy to my eye:)

I saw it this year; I liked the greeks, swiss, romanians and most of all the croatians, esp their drummer who left his drums, stood on his hands, and clapped with his feet - coming from a seemingly romantic song made it look hilariously surreal.

Israel was wearing a pretty dress, but she can barely walk because of the corset, and her fake boobs were about to pop out.

purgy had you seen the show this year, you must have died for malta ;P

q8-uk: i hate rooney too,, he is a good player and all but i guess once his personal life was out to the world, it really reduced his popularity.. (not to the men who like MAN U though) cos even if he has beaten his girlfriend publicly, thats cool to them, he is like divine!!
Eurovision was all over BBC why didnt u know about it!!

SHOSHO my dear :)
yay u saw it so u know what i mean.. yeah the drum thing was fun actually i wish they got top 5.
i really wanted to comment more on the israeli singer ;) but girl i know what u mean,, the first thing i noticed was her breasts damn it!
her song was purely american only sang in Hebrew. what really annoyed me is that the british commentator was sarcastic about every single song but not the israeli one! he hardly said anything and when it finished he said: that was good, its gonna be something tonight!! i was thinking in myself (oh dont cry)!!!

The stage was really nice, quite exuberant. Ambience was the key element to make it a hit.

i agree Raheel and the ambience they created did work just like every year.

I liked watching it back home. Alas, nobody gives a rat's ass about it here in the US.
But to give the Eurovision a scientific twist check out Nater News

and read the abstract of the research at

Apparently "nobody loves us" is not true. Nobody loves France :)
