I met someone and i want it work for a change! I dont want to live in the shadows of my old relationship(s) anymore even though its impossible to completely forget the long term one!!

Funny thing is the more i grow up (in age) the less clear my perspective into intimate relationships gets, or so do i believe!! cos everyday i learn something new about dealing with the opposite sex.

Rushing into things is NEVER my way into a serious relationship, but these days you would be taken as a reluctant person when you act that way rather than cautious..

I think turning 25 is not as fun i thought it is.. i will give it another month to judge though lol as of i can turn age back..

Still not sure if i should use my 4 voices or shall i vote only to the two that i already chose..

I am not keen on attending colloquiums this year, cos most of them are repeating the same talk they said in 2006, so i will vote for people i know deserve a chance in the next parliment "looking at past achievement and not present jabbering".

Also personally i think that if i had to listen to their blabbering, believe it or not it may actually deter me from voting for them, specially if i felt that they are trying to earn the crowds empathy by "acting" like they will whole-heartedly adopt unsolved sensitive issues our community faces.. i.e. Education, Health, Bedoun, Corruption... etc

already excluded a candidate due to some reasons that i cant ignore!

I am homesick..
I found my first boyfriend ever "high school" on facebook, we chatted for so long about what happened in our last 7 years since we parted.. it feels real good to be able to be friends now..

I am longing for someone whome i should stop thinking about cos its so wrong, and a third person is trying to get close to me and i am sort of allowing them "being extra super scared about it", with all this taking place, i still feel so lonely and i just wanna cry.

Damn, i remember the last time i was feeling like this, it was in the UK "2 years ago", and even though i was deeply in love with my boyfriend over there, i still had those moments.

I am worried that i will never be secured emotionally,, and i am more worried what that will mean if i ever decided to get married!!

like ever, i take my car into "wakala" to get something adjusted then i find out they are fixing an irrelevant piece, i walked in and took pictures of my old AC panel, was not this dirty before the workers handled it :P

BTW, it originally went in for adjusting the stereo panel, they did not do that, they instead changed the AC panel...

It seemed july was endless, i hated July this year, it held alot of stresses for me.. August means going away for me & me familia, my flight is in 11 days "may god give me patience"

I have a new boss starting today, although he seems a bit strict religiously, i actually like him already cos he is not like any other director i met in kuwait. He is extremely bad in remembering names!!!

A quote of what he said to us today " what you see here you never go out and spread any news about it outside these doors, even if you see your sister here, you never go and tell your own brother that your sister came here, it is this much, you can go to court for that " blimey,,, apparently it did happen to someone before for real!!!

I pass by weekly to check whether my uncles along with my dad have yet decided to take it down, and build instead a long building with many modern offices that will provide very good money to them!!!

When i suggested to wait like 20 years and turn the house into some memorial or so because honestly the house is so beautifully designed and is one of a kind with its arabic style and traditional old layout.. my dad looked @ me for a while til he realised am serious, then he turned his head uttering : you have gone nuts..

One of the girls i work with is into witch craft, yes you read it correctly, no kidding really.

Of course i dont give a shit about her and me and her are not friends whatsoever, but again this is whats worrying me, cos she is be-friending my best friend these days and i fear that she might be after some of my things, i also fear that my friend un-intentionally may give her something, like information about me or anything,,

You would think that when a country hosting a world class medical convention, invites only 1 doctor from kuwait, you would think that this doctor must be amazingly and interestingly worthwhile.

So as i was anxiously waiting for this Doctors lecture, deep in my mind i thought i will leave that hall feeling proud because the topic picked was very essential medically!

The surprise.
I dont know the Doctor very well, but i am sure that she must be such an inveterate person to have hold such a position in one of the important laboratories in kuwait.

Yet her presentation had no indications of that at all. i mean no offence; a 3 year old kid would even have realised how bad it is. the information on the slides were very repetitive "difference maybe the hedious colours!!!" i mean it was a joke. to top it all, she read off the slides!!! that is a big NO NO as every professional is probably aware. Even if she didnt have an experience in this, she should have worked on being trained before she flies to this convention with such low grade capabilities of presenting a world class lecture!
World class as in "professors from all over the world" not just usual general practitioners..

Finally, at the part were you ask questions or give in comments, she was the only one who needed the question to be repeated twice AND THEN translated to arabic!! for God's sake..
I left that lecture hiding my badge feeling so turned-off "obviously did not clap"
And trying to remember where can i find the food hall now...

I dont remember enjoying (sheesha) more than enjoying it amongst the wonderful ambience of the Desert in Dubai.

The place was set nicely and the tents were sectioned into : sheesha corner, dinner boufet, hinna tattoo-ing lady.. etc

And of course a "russian" billy dancer who managed to p**s off one of the english tourists.

The weather was SOoOo romantic it was wrong to be there with family..

This converstaion takes place twice every month between me and my General Practitioner!!

Me: Doc i have a headache, sore throught, runny nose and i feel like i wanna sleep forever!

Doc: yeah thats flu!

Me: but Doc i DID take a flu shot that should scientifically protect me 6 good months from any flu viruses, i have ALLERGY to many things its allergy i know it i was diagnosed before with it and the proof is that only Anti-histamine works with me!!!

Doc: no no its just flu dont make a big deal of it.

Me (talking to myself) : oh just go to hell how about that..

At the end he gives me my prescription and it says : bla bla, panadol extra and..... ta da "anti-histamine" !!!!!!!!!!

So why does not he admit i have allergy, he wants to act smart all the time.

Anyway dont ask why i keep going to only him, those are personal reasons lol.

I am so happy i found time to shop today, shopping is absolutely way better in the morning, i like going out at night but i cannot buy stuff if 100 other women are in the same 10 square meter!!

SO MOVING ON:
Things i cannot stand a male/female do around me:

1. chewing gum while being around me.

2. bad english or arabic grammar.

3. singing along a song NOT knowing the correct lyrics.

4. diagnosing their sleves with diseases or syndromes according to something they read on a website and not checked by a physician?!?!

Today, i proved myself that i dont know how to keep a certain relationship going fine! my problem is that i cant lie, people can find out easily that i am lying "IF i did so"!! so i tell the truth because it is easy, but again it is not always ok with some sensitive poeple which equally at the end i just ... lose them forever!! The problem is a problem when those people matter to u..
So, do u lie or tell the truth! umm it dont matter it gives the same god damn resulttttt.

Alwatan this morning published an article on page 70 talking about the five future voting districts, specifically how all the future candidates have rushed to spread their greetings for Ramadan through bill boards all over the 5 constitution-determined districts. the part i liked :) was how it said it in arabic

The top left picture is a shot of my very contaminated bench "literally" you dont wanna know an example of the viruses we recieve daily here. The pic on the right is of my/and my friend's notice board, see how many smily's i need to get through one day without caffeine!! "god forbid"

The bottom left pic is of a logo of a co-op, wont say which one although i know most of you will figure out, but i really think the logo is very outdated and needs to be changed, it reminds me of a box of tissues!! All the co-ops around kuwait are being renwed!! Why is this one damned..

Finally, just a thought
my collegue who is a bit new to kuwait said to me; "kuwaiti women shocked me with their addiction to coffee"
I then took a look at our coffee room's table and found 4 jars of large nescafe, 2 jars of coffee mate, 3 large boxes of lepton tea and twinings breakfast tea and loads of sugar, spoons and disposable cups. its true i think this country is highly addicted to coffee, and tea. oh and pepsi i mean thats caffeine too!!

Shopa, i dont wanna scare you but do u know that what we did in the mall last friday, was something that i actually saw in a dream maybe 3 weeks before? i forgot to tell you about this dream cos i myself forgot that i had that dream, but while we were going around i was saying to myself "wait, i did this before, and said the exact thing before" specially the part in MAC, that was my dream taking place live!!

Same thing happened last week with my mom and I, see i always dream of this huge field that has fences and trees and i seem to go there to visit poeple i donno with a person i donno either "guy", in dark hours only!!!!
So me and mom lost our way trying to get out of shuwaikh area avoiding 4th ring road as much as we can, and we actually passed by the field that comes in my dreams, when i told my mom she started reading Quran and not talk to me!! she was scared cos it was night too and the place felt like a piece of a place outside kuwait.

I watched this play on friday the 28th but i didnt intend to blog about it because there is nothing to say..
Nevertheless the brochure was laying here for 2 days, so i scanned it and i ........ am blogging about it.
This is my second or third theatre experience in kuwait, this play was purely intended for the aid of Lebanon, trust me that is the ONLY reason why i went.
Otherwise, with my respect to all the "actors" it was HORRIBLE
I never heard the word fiel "elephant" so many times in my life like i did in this hour long play..

The main character is an obvious "abdel hsain abdel reda" wannabe..
I am not adding more, i just wanna say that i am glad the money is going for a good cause but those guys need MORE drama classes..

@ 5:30 am, 7th of July, an explosion was heard when heavy black smoke clouds wrapped the windows of the homes of this area.. minutes later sirens of police and ambulance cars were heard coming closer.. homicide investigators followed!! it was un real..

I am still trying to analyze what could have happened.. all i know is that there was a cayenne porche less than half a meter away that was miraclly saved from catching the flames..

From what i saw, the fire must have started in the car on the right of the picture" BMW in my guess", then the flames spread to reach what seems to be a grand marques probably!!!

Seeing the cars from the inside, felt like watching one of those assasination on tv!!!

Of course after what i read on "kuwaitjunior" blog this morning, about ruining wood work near "Khaled Al mutairi's" house.. you can imagine the first thought that came to my mind......

While sane people like my friend "Shopaholic" are getting rid of their high limit credit cards, I on the other hand called NBK last night @ the "HALA WATANI" service and told them i want the Golden MC because i am going on a holiday. The guy was like choose any limit you want :P

Goodness me i was thinking how much would be enough for greedy me! Anyway finally he gave me 5000 kd.

I am taking Farsi language course now, finally i am going to be able not only understand, but also write and speak it :D
But this new teacher of ours "who replaced khanom Laila our brilliant teacher" is like very strict with us, he is new to kuwait only been here for 2 months so he hardly knows the kuwaiti mentality.. my assignment was to listen to a news forecast over the past 5 days and give a report of them, of course i sat there listening to 576 AM and understood hardly 3 words maybe!!! i didnt give him reports last week, so i stood out as the worst student so far.. i told him "ustad, i still dont understand long complicated sentences" but

I actually never thought i'd want to write here again, i've experienced really tough times in the past couple of months but i am trying to recover.
I temporarily went through a stage where i have lost interest in work, hobbies, friends, family, life in general in fact, but my mind needs to wake up and see how wrong this is..

This is a meaningless long weekend!!! most of our family and friends dont even know it is the prophets birth anniversary!!! no one deserves a holiday in this country.

It is sad really the fact that this hospital has extremely expensive machines, but the cracks in the windows and the walls let some rain come inside and literally form a pool in the lab and drench the equipment. We met the chief technician and he said we sent 10 complaints over the last 10 YEARS!!!! to MOH "Ministry Of Health" and recieved no response..

Besides smoking myself to death in the past couple of nights, i have been thinking about the world alot lately, specifically about the flu pandemic that will hit us sooner or later wether we liked it "or prepared for it" or not..

Obviously we are not prepared AT ALL, we are waiting for the mercy of USA and UK,, our ministry of health spent 15 million$ on purchasing the vaccine "that we are not sure it will prevent the flu anyway, at least that is my own idea"

I am not offering any solutions in this post for the failure of the medicine field in our arabian world, but at least i think it is good that Jordan for example has established a special committee for this issue trying to figure out what to do!

Where are the experts in Kuwait my brain is wondering? are they not scared?

Exceer hates bitching, but this time she just had it..

Where do i start, first thing comes to my mind is how did i ship 6 full boxes "each is 1m cubic" from the UK and recieved 4 of them only!!

Apparently space is an important issue for customs "people", so when they searched my things "by throwing each item on the floor" they decided that there is alot of space to just move my things without my permission to 4 boxes and just tear the other 2 into pieces!! not even give them to me but tear them into PIECES!!!

My dad witnessed all of this and we both were furious coz of this s**t, but its things they have to do "the savage way" you cannot argue!!

I was a fool to use anything else but DHL.. this is the biggest mistake i have done in 4 years..

Look at the boxes how torn and s**t they look, my things are lying around them as well, the other 2 boxes are in the back seat..

Remember in my last post about my night out?
Oh what a night it was, just what i needed.. It was not strictly girls but we were all friends from a loooong time ago and we had a blast..
Picture not excellent but we first headed to swensens to please my sister who has an addiction, then we went to TGI, where we waited for a good table, then we had dinner and ruined the DJ's night @ the same time; my friend "a guy" kept sending him notes on napkins, i wont say more..

We then went to chocolate bar, my first time ever there, we laughed like crazy all night, it took me 30 minutes to figure out what i wanted, i had the molten cake, i can still smell it this instant!!!

Finally we went to MCcafe "had to end it the 3agad way" the girls had espresso and the guys had double mc stuff!!!!
We looked weird but mashalla guys dont mind eating all those calories.. i love their spirit..

15 years ago: we were hiding in our houses worried about my dad and my uncles.. things were crazy and we lost everything we "owned".. i still rememeber how my mom insisted on shopping in jam3iya as if things were normal.. i think she was very close of getting arrested on several occasions..

10 years ago: i was helping an old lady cross the street but when crossing back i was hit by a car LOL.. "yeah no one trust me on their life"

1 year ago: my life was boring to death, i started hating uni and everything about my life "depression period"

tomorrow: i am having a girl's night out with my mates " i wish everyone was in kuwait though ekh"

5 snacks i enjoy: well i love food, i enjoy everything, but chocolate and busicuits are the top ones.. add to that pears and mini carrots

TV shows: i cant recall all my favourites but basically :my wife and kids, fresh prince of bel air, south park. STRICTLY COMEDY COS LIFE IS ALREADY MISERABLE

If i had 100 million: with out any doubt, i would give half of it to the poor and needy in africa and asia but the other half i would go and buy an island "that is like a dream LOL"

speaking about the poor,,, i really sometimes wish i can give everyone i see some money,, i am not talking about any one, i am talking about very old ppl in the street trying to sell you things.. it just breaks my heart every second walla..

Yesterday I did something cruel: I turned down someone, lets call him “T”, for a marriage proposal. We know each other for a long time. My family met his when we moved into their House during “ghazou” since then our families got close. Me and him went to the same school since I was 2nd grade. “I think he was 5th grade or something” till high school. Then he studied in Jordan and I went to the UK. But we never parted from each other using all means of communications, I know all his girlfriends and he knows everything about me.

Yesterday I saw him very briefly! He is a pilot now and he works really hard. He is wonderful and loving. Thing is we never ever confessed love. I personally never felt it but apparently he has been like this for the fifth year this year.

Our mom’s are close friends “best friends in fact” they kinda know about T’s feelings but they think we are too young to think about marriage. He is 25 this year so its fine but I am YOUNGER LOL..

Anyway after seeing me last night he texted me and stuff and he wants his mom to come to our house and talk it with my mom “without the dads for now”.. I texted him back of how much I love his mom and respect her so I’d hate it for her to come and be turned down..

He acted normally as if I did not say anything, but I am sure what I said will guarantee me never receiving texts from him, he has dignity after all…

I lost my childhood friend forever. I still donno why I refused him!! But I am too scared to marry him.. I never thought of him like that.. damn I cant.. I surely cant.. he is more than nice but I CANTTTTTTTT…….

Favourite Surah!!

This post might sound weird, but i was talking to a new "revert" to the islamic faith, and he was asking me: what is your favourite surah in the quran?

I with wide open eyes did not have an answer! so i tried to break away from the answer and said confidently : you cannot love one surah only, you have to love the whole book!

Thinking i was clever in my answer he said: duh, i know you have to love the entire book, but i mean personally, you gotta have a certain desire to read a specific surah, dont you?

I thought about it and i said : i actually donno which one is my fav.!

I asked him back and he said "mariam"

I thought : really, yeah it is actually a wonderful story of how Zakaria finds her with food in her room, i always was amazed by "jesus's" story anyway.

Went home, opened the holy quran, tried to read the index to see which surah do i actually like, and it hit me:

It is surat YOUSEF ; i love that surah, because i think i like his AMAZING story, i enjoy reading it over and over again, it is just awesome and i never get bored of it. of how he became the king of egypt and refused betraying his master, i love reading it cos it is exciting to read..
whoever knows arabic, would know how superb is the phrasing of that surah!!

A name of a movie that i made a special trip to see today, of course i did not regret it for a second.

As you might know already, i am interested in palestinian politics and i am a member of the PSC (palestinian solidarity campaign). The story was about one specific family and the events that they went through.

This movie is absolutley astonishing, fantastically honest and OF COURSE nerve wrecking! i did not cry (although i was prepared to) but i surely teared.

Obviously today i was the only arab in the theatre so i am the only one who did not read the subtitles ;), but i peaked @ them @ some points because i wanted to see how accurate is the translation of the dialogues.

The direction was done by MOHAMMED BAKRI but the production is purely italian.

Pls check online reviews for more details, it is one amazing piece of work.

Damn, it is sooo hard to tell someone that you dont love them!! specially if they fell in love with you in 1998!!

At the same time, it is true what they say, you always go for the wrong person, the heart is such an idiot muscle "sometimes", it can completely desire the wrong ones!!

First time i had a meal there was in the one in london in Holland Park Avenue, a dear friend of mine took us(me and another friend) there.
I was so happy when they opened one in my area, becuase the food there is Yummy.
It is not the best italian but it is surely different. So far i have been going there all the time since TGI (My ultimate as you may know)is like an hour away from my house.

I started my new job today, basically my job is to help school students undertsand their higher education options, so i (with Andrea the BOSS) go around schools in the UK to give talks and then questionnaires to YEAR 12's (equivalent to rab3a thanawy) so that they learn how to use different universities prospectuses..

This morning we drove to a school near leeds. The school was really huge and the students were amazingly clever and polite (unlike schools near my area). Also, it was like 50% of the student were way taller ( much much taller) than i am, they also were huge (what is it with the hormones in the new generations???). I seriously thought "damn they can crush me and not even notice".

Anyway, it went absolutely fine and the teachers were really sweet but ever so busy.
Brought back my GCSE year memories :)
We ruled the school cos we were "the seniors" and broke all the laws you can think of.. Now That Was Life

I have attended one performance last week in sheffield, did not blog about it cos i had no pictures to put up..

Destiny's Child (loving it tour) is their last ever (i am so glad i went)

They announced the split in spain 2 days ago and pledged sisterly devotion

Their final performances will conclude in USA kicking off 9th july

The fact that i have been a fan from day one, makes this as sad as hearing TakeThat split up news years ago

P.S. the concert in sheffield hallam arena (last in UK tour) was FAB i danced and sang and had lotsa fun.

Oh, i cannot believe i lived in this area for a year and did not know i had a play field 10 meters away from my block!

My friend was like come i wanna show you something, we walked through high trees and covered fences and we reached this amazing HUGE field where there were all sorts of slides, swings, climbing walls and rope walking games!! the games were so sophisticated that it took us a while to realise what was the purpose of some of them :P

Have not been a kid for a while and i have to say they have evolutionized those games.

We played everything that can hold our huge bodies (compared to the actual kids who are supposed to play :P)
I took a picture of the slide cos my friend tricked me into going first to (wipe dry) the slide after the rain for her, HUH.. amma get her..

Actually "devilish smile" she did fall twice while we were playing. bss mo 7obti :P

I found it in our closet last summer and thought how the hell did this survive the war (ghazou) when my toys didnt for example!!
I decided to bring it to here (UK) and wear it indoors only for obvious reasons :P

I booked my ticket to go home, it is a bit early but i dont care.
For the first time in 4 years i book a one way ticket!
It has just hit me that i am not coming back to england..
Many people i know who were in the USA, when they returned to kuwait said they had depression for a month or 2 cos of the change and cos they didnt find decent jobs for a year and a half. i really donno if i will get depression but i have planned carefully what i wanna do incase i dont find a job soon enough.

Anyway i cant wait for the summer holiday to begin
actually that is a lie, i cant wait for my Graduation Ceremony Day :D

Last night someone I know has tried to deceive me devilishly, I was stunned to know that this skullduggery was pulled by him!
It is a good lesson for me to realize who is trustworthy and who is not (I am apparently running out of honest people in my life).
It also amazes me how some people are not happy with the roles allocated to them in this life but try to acquire another fake role to play in other spare times!!

Certainly, I did not fall for a second for the pulled-act, I knew from moment one something was wrong,, I guess this person forgot that I can play a whole country but cannot be played by any creature..

My "long-time-no-see" drama and computer teacher (yes he was multi-talented bless him) told me once:
Life is just a gigantic play, we are all actors and we are all doing the roles that were allocated to us involuntarily, and obliged to complete it to the extreme like it or not.

Well he said it in arabic but above is the translation. donno if these are his words or he learnt them somewhere but i am glad he taught me that.
The reason i am mentioning this, is because i consider it something basic in my life. I believe we are like one huge family of dramatics, we entertain each other, or torture each other, we do whatever we want and life is probably laughing at us, or feeling sorry for us! who knows.

So ..yeaaaaah i acted in my teenage :) i guess i am multi talented too cos i can act, clone babies and much much more ;)

Eurovision 2005

BBC1 has just shown Eurovision 2005 song contest held in KYIV this year. I enjoy watching it every year specially when the commentator says (God Please Help Us) cos no one votes for UK hahaha..
Every year i hopeto see an arabic singer or something, this contest is not quitrent to Europe, apparently countries from the middle east and north africa can participate, Samira for example from morocco has taken part in 1980. It seems that a lebanese singer (Eline Lahoud) with her composer from the Rahbani family (forgot his first name) were supposed to take part but the reasons for her not appearing are still mystical to me.

So from the UK, the lovely Javine performed her (Touch My Fire) the arabic-tinged R&B song.

I really like turkish music too but today the singer produced some unnecessary noises and Cow-boy like screams!!! (hardly got points tonight)

Italy didnt take place :(

Israel had many supporters it seemed (so i KNEW they would win they got in the top 5)

The 24 performances were exciting and dance-full. the presenters though were (thqal dam) specially the lady.. i needed panadol after hearing her tone; she sure dont need a microphone.

1st place was given to: GREECE yay

The british commentator kept moaning (no body loves us) until the irish saved their butts AGAIN LOL (still they didnt even get in the top 20!!!!!!!)

Oh and ARSENAL won against MANCHESTER today! VIEIRA's conclusive goal (penalty) was candy to my eye:)

I am having one of these weeks.. in which i cant organize my thoughts and i just dont feel like working.. BAD NEWS cos my next week decides "literally" the upcoming 5 years or so!!

Went into our supermarket to get KitKat, on the back near the bar code it read (Remember you are not a salmon)
At first, (cos i was not wearing my contacts) i thought it said Solomon. so i thought why would anyone think they are king solomon!! have KitKat gone mad!!
when i read it again i realised its Salmon the fish.. still didnt make sense to me since my brain went o-so-blank.. hehehe
apparently it has to do with have a break , have a KitKat

I have a feeling that this is a british thing, i am sure u wont find such a KitKat in USA or KUWAIT :S

The British "Channel 4" has dedicated all last week to present a season of iranian films to celebrate iran's world acclaimed cinema. the movies were very deep in their meanings and consisted of short conversations but with lengthy description. i never watched an iranian movie before in my life so i really enjoyed these!
Now comes the main reason for my post and the best bit i guess.. it is the names of these movies!! you would think the director didnt even spend an hour probably trying to choose a name for his movie:

Oh GOD, i really miss kuwait in a strange way. I dont see myself living any other where in the world.
With all the insanity you find in q8 (in every aspect of life), still if you really love her, you would miss everything about her, even the god damn crazy drivers who are better at swearing than driving.
Finding stupid people is possible everywhere, mind you in kuwait there is loads of them.
But i am talking about Q8, the sea, the desert, my house, the streets, me alone in the car driving my sister to school and enjoying watching people's actions and how everybody get on with their lives.
All the diseases in the world hit me when i leave q8 because my lungs are trained to only breathe her air.
